I recently joined Shana on her podcast (Episode 10. Why Not a Teacher? A Conversation with Amy Brooks) to talk about what it’s really like to run for State Delegate here in Maryland. As a high school English teacher, a mom, and your neighbor, I don’t come from a political dynasty or a wealthy background… I’m simply someone who cares deeply about our community and believes all our voices matter in Annapolis.
This is my second run for office, and in our conversation I share why I decided to step up again, what I’ve learned along the way, and how everyday life shapes my campaign. We talk about the challenges and rewards of balancing family and teaching with politics, the realities of fundraising and door-knocking, and the motivation that keeps me going.
I am grateful for this opportunity to speak with Shana. You can visit her podcast website Why Not Me? here.
